Privacy Policy
This policy covers the MindmapPal website (mindmappal.com) and the MindmapPal app for iPhone and iPad, both made by ElevenApril. The short version: what you put in a map stays on your device, and we count visits and app usage anonymously.
Your maps
Map files are never sent to us. MindmapPal stores maps as files in your iCloud Drive, or on your device when iCloud is off. iCloud is run by Apple and we cannot see what is in it. The website does not receive or read your map files either.
The website
Google Analytics
The website uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies (_ga and a second cookie starting with _ga_) in your browser and sends Google the page you viewed, your browser and device type, a rough location derived from your IP address, and the events listed below. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and ad storage is switched off.
These are the only events we send, and none contains personal details:
- a person joined the waiting list (with the page they joined from, such as “home”);
- a download or waiting list button was clicked (with its position on the page);
- in future, a web tool was opened, or a file was exported (with the format, such as “png”).
We never send Google your email address, the text of a map, or the name of a file. Where web tools that work with map files are added to the site, the files will be handled in your browser and will not be uploaded to us.
Your choice
- Wherever you are, Google Analytics does not load until you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. Until then the website sets no analytics cookies and sends nothing to Google.
- If you choose “Reject all”, or change your mind later, Google Analytics stops on that page, its cookies are removed, and it does not load on later visits.
- Your choice is saved in your browser (local storage, key
mindmappal-cookie-consent), not in a cookie. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. - You can also block Google Analytics with your browser settings or Google’s browser add-on, or clear your cookies.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
Waiting list
If you join the waiting list we store your email address, the page you joined from and the time. We use the address for one purpose: to write to you once when MindmapPal is on the App Store. After that message has been sent, we delete the address. If you want it removed sooner, write to us at support@elevenapril.com and we will delete it.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person. Turnstile runs a challenge in your browser and shares signals about your browser with Cloudflare. We load it only when you click into the email field or submit the form. Your request to join also reaches Cloudflare with your IP address, as any request to the site does. We do not store the IP address with your email, and we do not pass it to Turnstile when checking the challenge.
Hosting
The website and the waiting list run on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and request details to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We do not receive a list of visitors from it.
The app
The app does not ask you to create an account and does not use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics SDKs. It does send anonymous usage data to a database we run on Supabase, so we can tell how many people use the app and which parts work. It sends:
- a random install identifier, generated on first launch and kept in your device’s Keychain on that device only. It is not linked to you, your Apple ID, or Apple’s advertising or vendor identifiers;
- the app version and build, iOS version, device type (iPhone or iPad), your preferred language and the App Store country of your account;
- on first launch, the date and version of the original install as reported by the App Store, and an Apple Ads attribution token, which lets us see whether the install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign;
- when you open the app and which in-app purchase screens are shown, and when you tap a purchase and the result (product, success, cancelled, pending or failed, and the transaction identifier);
- the original transaction identifiers of your active App Store purchases, which let us match purchases to installs;
- a daily summary: how many times you opened the app, and counts of actions such as maps created;
- your answer to the optional “How did you hear about us?” question, including the short text if you choose “Other”.
Every upload reaches the server with your device’s IP address, as any internet request does. We do not store the IP address in our analytics database, but the hosting provider may handle it in its own network logs, which we do not control. The titles and contents of your maps, your files and your names are not part of this. Raw events are kept for 90 days and then rolled up into totals. A small record per install (activity date, app version and country) and the install’s first-launch details are kept so we can measure how long people keep using the app. Because the identifier is random and not tied to you, we usually cannot tell which data is yours.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. Apple may collect its own analytics under your device settings, which we do not control.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with advertisers. The services that handle data for us are Google (Analytics), Cloudflare (hosting, waiting list, Turnstile), Supabase (app usage counts) and Apple (App Store, purchases, iCloud). We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to its use, or to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority. Contact us at support@elevenapril.com and we will answer. For the waiting list, give the email address you used. We cannot look up app usage data without the install identifier, which is not shown in the app.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. The apps and websites of other ElevenApril products have their own policies on elevenapril.com.
