Free XMind viewer

Open a .xmind file in your browser to see it and change it. You do not need XMind installed, and the file stays on your device.

How it works

  1. Choose Open file, or drop a .xmind file on the map area.
  2. Look around the map. Each sheet in the file has its own tab, and you can change any topic.
  3. Export a .xmind file to keep your changes, or a PNG image, Markdown or OPML.

Your file never leaves your browser

The file opens on your device. It is not uploaded, and its name and contents are not sent to us. A password-protected file is unlocked in your browser too.

Take your maps to iPhone and iPad

MindmapPal for iPhone and iPad opens .xmind, OPML and Markdown files, works offline, and keeps every map as a file you own.

Questions

Do I need XMind to open a .xmind file?

No. This page opens .xmind files on its own, in your browser.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The file is read on your device and never leaves your browser. Its name and contents are not sent to us.

Can I open a password-protected file?

Yes. Type the password when asked. It unlocks the file in your browser and is not sent anywhere. Maps from protected files are not saved in this browser, so export before you close the tab.

Will an export keep the rest of my file?

When you export a .xmind file, the tool changes only what you edited. When it cannot, it tells you before the export and asks first.

How large a file can it open?

Files of up to 50 MB, with up to 220,000 topics.

Can I open other files too?

Yes. Markdown and OPML files open the same way, and you can export any map as a PNG image, a .xmind file, Markdown or OPML.
