Free mind map maker
Make a mind map right in your browser. Press Tab to add an idea and export the map when you are done. There is nothing to install.
How it works
- Start a new map. The central topic is ready for your first idea.
- Press Tab to add a subtopic and Return to add the next idea. Drag a topic to move it.
- Export the map as a PNG image, a .xmind file, Markdown or OPML.
Your file never leaves your browser
The tool runs on your device. Your maps and the files you open are not uploaded, and nothing you type in them is sent to us. While you work, the map is saved in this browser, so a reload does not lose it.
Take your maps to iPhone and iPad
MindmapPal for iPhone and iPad opens .xmind, OPML and Markdown files, works offline, and keeps every map as a file you own.

Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Open the page and start. There is nothing to sign up for.
Is my map uploaded anywhere?
No. The map is made and kept in your browser, on this device. Export it to keep a copy as a file.
What happens if I close the tab?
The map is saved in this browser as you work, so it is still here when you come back in the same browser. Clearing the browser’s site data removes it, so export a file to keep it for good.
Which formats can I export?
A PNG image, a .xmind file, Markdown and OPML. A .xmind file keeps everything. Markdown and OPML keep the topics and notes.
Can I open a map I already have?
Yes. Choose Open file to open a .xmind, Markdown or OPML file of up to 50 MB.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On a phone a map opens for viewing first. Tap Edit to change it. A keyboard makes a map quickest to build.
